QLD – Star Crest & Bigway Event Ramblers, Toogoolawah
Star crests and Intermediate Bigways 28 and 29 January 2017 Ramblers Toogoolawah, with the support of South Queensland Parachute Council is putting this event on to give jumpers the chance to get their star crests, and for a day of Bigway jumping. Saturday 28 January 2017 – Star crests A very useful thing, the star crest rating – it’s the entree to bigger formations in all skydiving disciplines. Experienced Bigway jumpers are very welcome to help out and have a great day. NO ONE is in the base two jumps running. Have your B licence, or planning on getting it soon? Get some jumps under your belt with others (two, three and four ways are good practice) and get your star crest at the end of January. Sunday 29 January 2017 – Intermediate Bigways This is open to anyone star crest and above, whether you are new to Bigways or experienced. The focus will be on trying new slots and locking in Bigway basics. This day will be coached by the one and only Ben Nordkamp, Queensland’s Bigway mentor. The plan At least four loads each day. All loads are with video and ground debrief. Full face helmets, audible alti and a jumpsuit with boosters are highly recommended. Saturday: please email Martin to express interest. Include number of jumps, licence held and whether you hold, or want to get, your star crest (and in that case also number of star crest jumps completed, if any). For those who want to get their star crests – if you are accepted for the event, to make sure that there is a slot for you on the day, there will be a small registration fee, which will be applied to your first jump on the day. Star Crest Saturday at Elderslie DZ A Star Crest is your ticket to more options in skydiving including getting on larger formations in several disciplines, it is a prerequisite for ratings, plus they are a whole lot of fun. If you are on the way to starting your Star Crests or have 1 or 2 to go then here is your opportunity!
